I rarely wear bright makeup, because it’s not my style and often doesn’t sit my red hair. When I picked up this freebie skin from Gigi Couture, I was surprised by how nice the colors were. I wanted to wear a black dress with them to keep them a bit toned down, but didn’t want something too heavy for the spring season. I picked this simple black babydoll (which is one of my favorite dresses and which I’ve worn before). I carried the makeup colors through in the stockings, from Canimal, and kept my other accessories simple and black. The hair, from Kin, is a style I adore—unfortunately, Kin hair textures vary often, so my red of choice isn’t available for this style, but I was able to make do by tinting the brown-red color a bit richer and redder. All told, I’m really happy with this look, even if it falls slightly outside of my usual.

SL Outfit 6/29/07

In the game Second Life, I play the avatar Juushika Redgrave.
I threw on this outfit very quickly, intending to wear it only until I had the time to sit down and thoughtfully construct a new outfit. I ended up liking it so much that I wore it for a day and a half. ^_^ Not a bad sign, methinks. I particularly like the bare skin of the back and stomach, visible between the adorable vest (from Tres Blah) and the incredibly low-cut pants (from Canimal). I matched the slightly soft, hand-painted texture of both pieces to the hand-painted look of the hair (from Au Naturale, by the makers of Elephant Outfitters, soon to be reborn as Armidi). In keeping with the vest, I kept the colors neutral, almost drab: Brown manicure, from Sin Skins. Brown-tinted shoes (from Kimberly Casanova Designs, the same pair from my previous outfit but without the bow). A silver and copper bracelet (freebie from Miriel) and a silver and green necklace (also from Miriel) that mimics the v-neck of the vest. Oh, how I wish the primwork on Miriel’s necklaces were larger–it’s almost impossible to see even when zoomed in, which I think is a pity, because it is spectacular prim work.
All in all–I liked the simplicity of this outfit, and really like the bare skin of the stomach and lower back. I plan to make more outfits that feature this area soon, because, well… I might as well enjoy just how delightfully trim my digital self can be. ^^
